Kazakhstan to cut down planted areas of grains
Kazakhstan will cut down planted areas of grains in 2013, according to Muslim Umiryaev, Vice-Minister of Agriculture of Kazakhstan.
The country is expected to reduce the planted areas of wheat to the level of 2012 - down 2%, and rice - down 6.5%, followed by reduction for other grains and pulses, said the Vice-Minister.
According to him, agrarians will plant the crops throughout 21.3 million hectares for the harvest-2013, which corresponds to the level of 2012. The planted areas of grains will total 15.9 million hectares, forage crops - three million hectares, oilseeds - 1.8 million hectares.
