Kazakhstan to fulfil grain demands in Azerbaijani
Kazakhstan is able to provide about 800 thousand tonnes of grains on the market of Azerbaijan in 2011 in the favourable market conditions, stated Daulet Uvashev, from a national company.
This is despite the hard situation, according to Daulet Uvashev, the Managing Director of the Foreign Economic Activity of JSC National Company "Food Contract Corporation".
As a reminder, Azerbaijan imports in average about 800 kmt of grains annually.
The South Federal District of Russia - Stavropol and Krasnodar Krais, and also Kazakhstan are the main grain suppliers to Azerbaijan. Due to the summer droughts in Russia, and the grain export ban, Stavropol and Krasnodar Krais stopped grain supplies to the country. The current situation caused the VAT cancellation (18%) for imported grains in Azerbaijan.
According to Uvashev, Baku grain terminal, which was built on the parity basis with Azerbaijan, to date works with old grain stocks.
At the same time, according to his information, to date flour milling production commodities, which started working at the grain terminal last year, produces high-grade quality flour.
The enterprise used Kazakh grains with high gluten content, which totals 28%, and to date the commodities of the enterprise are on Azerbaijani market in small volumes, but stated as flour of Kazakh production, noted Uvashev.
