Russia's poultry production shows positive growth in 2007
 

Russian Poultry Union Rosptitsesoyuz announced on Wednesday (January 23, 2008) that Russia had produced 1.87 million tonnes of poultry in live weight in 2007.

That was a 15.4-percent increase from 2006's poultry production, Rosptitsesoyuz added.

Considerable investment in poultry farms by private enterprises had contributed to the increase

The increase is due to considerable investment in poultry farms by private enterprises.

Rosptitsesoyuz forecasts that 2008's poultry production will increase further to 2.05 million tonnes and will reach 2.15 million tonnes in 2009.
