Russia 2007 poultry production up 15 percent on-year  

Russia produced in 2007 1.9 million tonnes of poultry in live weight, 15.4 percent more than in 2006, the national poultry grower's association, Rosptitsesoyuz, reported Wednesday.

The increase is due to considerable investment in poultry farms by private enterprises.

Rosptitsesoyuz forecasts that this year, Russia's poultry production will increase further to 2 million tonnes and will reach 2.15 million tonnes in 2009.
