Ukraine's 2006 pork output up 53.5 percent on-year

 

 

Ukraine produced 105,000 tonnes of fresh and refrigerated pork in 2006, an increase of 53.5 percent compared with 2005, the state statistics committee reported Tuesday (Jan 23).

 

Frozen pork output in 2006 increased 30.8 percent on the year to 23,100 tonnes.

 

In December fresh and refrigerated pork output was 11,100 tonnes, 40.1 percent more than in December 2005. Frozen pork output in December was 2,600 tonnes, an increase of 47.2 percent compared with December 2005.

 

Ukraine's fresh and refrigerated poultry output in 2006 increased 15.6 percent compared with 2005 to 304,000 tonnes, while frozen poultry output increased 63.2 percent to 91,200 tonnes.

 

In December fresh and refrigerated poultry output was 28,800 tonnes, 6.9 percent more than in December 2005. Frozen poultry output increased 52.2 percent to 9,700 tonnes.

 

Ukraine's 2006 fresh and refrigerated beef output was 128,000 tonnes, 8 percent more than in 2005. In December output was 11,800 tonnes, 28.7 percent more than in December 2005.

 

Frozen beef output in 2006 fell 31.4 percent on the year to 32,400 tonnes. In December frozen beef output was 3,400 tonnes, 40.7 percent more than in December 2005.
