Brazil's Globoaves to produce chickens for Tyson
US food giant Tyson Foods Inc. (TSN) has signed a one-year contract with Brazilian poultry company Globoaves to produce and slaughter chickens in Brazil, a manager at Globoaves confirmed late Thursday (January 22).
The Parana state-based company, Globoaves, will produce up to 60,000 chickens per day for Tyson, he said.
Tyson aims to use these chickens for export to the European Union, Asia and the Middle East, the manager added.
Globoaves would not disclose the value of the contract, and Tyson was unavailable for comment.
