Russia retains 2006 non-quota poultry import tariff

Russia has retained the 2006 tariff rate for out-of-quota poultry for use in 2007, the government said on its website Monday (Jan 22).

Russia regulates red and poultry meat imports with tariff quotas. The poultry quota volume would rise slightly this year to 1.1712 million tonnes from last year's 1.1308 tonnes.

As in the last year, the US would account for the majority of the quota, or 871,400 tonnes, up from 841,300 tonnes in 2005.

The EU share of the quota would also rise to 228,600 tonnes this year from 220,600 tonnes last year.

Poultry and poultry products within the quota may be imported at a discount tariff of 25 percent of the customs value, but no less than 0.2 euros per kg.
