India's current weather favorable for wheat crop 

 

 

Weather conditions prevailing in India are very good for the wheat crop, and the government expects good production in the crop marketing year that starts in April, Federal Farm Secretary P.K. Mishra said Tuesday (January 22, 2008).

 

"Weather conditions prevailing in India are very favorable for the wheat crop, and we hope to have good production," Mishra told reporters on the sidelines of an industry event.

 

India is targeting to produce more than 75 million tonnes of wheat in the crop marketing year that starts in April. The country produced around 74.89 million tonnes of wheat this crop year.
