China's Hunan province increases grain acreage

With the steady development of Hunan province's agricultural production, the grain planting area was increased by 430 hectares, now covering 5,295,850 ha.

The Provincial Bureau of Statistics cited that total grain output in the year was 29.10 million tonnes, rising by 0.3 percent year-on-year.

The output of pig reached 79.8 million, cattle 2.3 million, sheep 8.8 million and poultry 642 million heads.

Hunan's aquaculture output surged by 7.7 percent to 2 million tonnes.
