China sulphate additives markets stable despite slow demand

Cupric sulphate

Pre-festive demand for cupric sulphate remained slow as livestock markets performed poorly.

As of January 18, transaction prices of cupric sulphate remained in the range of RMB13,700-13,800/tonne.

Cupric sulphate prices will likely stay around current levels due to weak livestock prices and diminishing animal inventories.

Zinc sulphate

As the livestock industry was hit by H7N9 bird flu outbreak in China, the sales of poultry and hog feed was far below expectation. Zinc sulphate demand showed little improvement as a result.

Prices are set to stay flat amid weak buying interest.

Manganese sulphate

Prices of manganese ore stayed strong amid tight supply, lending support to manganese sulphate market despite lacklustre demand.

Manganese sulphate market will remain stable due to limited availability

Ferrous sulphate

With output limited, prices of ferrous sulphate were mostly stable over past weeks even though feed millers limited procurements.

The output of ferrous sulphate is unlikely to increase prominently in the near term with raw ingredient availability tight.
