Kona Blue Water Farms raises US$2.6 million investment
The money is raised from private investors to expand its Kona facilities.
According to Pacific Business News, Kona Blue Water Farms had relocated its headquarters to San Francisco in December 2007. The move was initiated so that the company can be closer to its customer base and access to potential investors can be improved.
The move appears to have benefited the company as it is now prepared to expand production of its premium sushi-grade Hawaiian yellowtail Kona Kampachi.
Hawaiian company Kona Blue Water Farms is the first integrated hatchery and open ocean aquaculture operation in the US, sustainably raises Kona Kampachi, a Hawaiian yellowtail fish.
