Philippines lifts ban on Nebraska poultry
The Philippine Department of Agriculture has lifted the ban on poultry and poultry products coming from Nebraska, the agriculture secretary announced Friday.
The ban was ended after four months of no evidence on the bird flu virus.
Agriculture secretary, Arthur Yap, said the risk of contamination from importing poultry and poultry products from Nebraska is negligible.
Philippines imposed the ban in August 2007 after official reports confirmed bird flu in the state.
