Ukraine's 2011 agricultural products export volume up 28.5%
Last year, the export volume of Ukraine's agricultural products totalled US$12 billion, 28.5% more than in 2010, stated Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine Mykola Prysyazhnyuk on Wednesday (Jan 18).
Foreign economic activity of Ukraine on the food market actively improves performance.
"In 2011 export volumes of agricultural products increased for 28.5% and amounted US$12 billion. The positive balance is US$5 billion. An essential factor of a positive balance played sunflower oil - plus 25%, grain - plus 27%, oilseeds - plus 10%, and milk - plus 5% ", - informed the Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food.
According to the Minister, searches for new markets for domestic agricultural products were successful during 2011.
"It was very nice and important for Ukraine that we expand the geography of supply of agricultural products. This year we discovered the Bangladesh market, actively working with the Middle and Far East countries. In addition, the Ministry has found understanding at the level of the Government to supply barley to Saudi Arabia", - Mykola Prysyazhnyuk said.
