Japan purchases 185,275 tonnes milling wheat
Japan bought 185,275 tonnes of milling wheat in a tender, a senior government official said Thursday (Jan 19).
The government bought the wheat in four grades for bulk shipment in March, the official with the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries said. Japan has so far purchased 324,514 tonnes for March shipment.
Japan, one of the world's largest wheat importers by volume, purchases milling wheat from the US, Canada and Australia.
