China buys 35.82-million-tonne local corn

As of January 10, the Chinese government has bought a total of 35.82 million tonnes of corn from 2011's output in 11 major rice-producing provinces, according to statistics released by the State Administration of Grain.

State-owned grain enterprises bought 9.1 million tonnes of corn, accounting for 25% of the total amount.
