Russia to export nearly 30 million tonnes of grain

Russia has an excellent export potential on the international grain markets and would be able to provide stable shipments of nearly 30 million tonnes of grain per year.

That is according to Viktor Zubkov, the First Vice-Premier of Russia. The country exported 23 million tonnes of grains in 2008, and 20 million tonnes in 2009.

Russia plans to widen its grain export market access, including countries suffering from natural disasters because they would need large-scale of volumes of food products.

The United Grain Company, Russia's state grain trader, is also looking for investments to upgrade the country's obsolete infrastructure in order to support large scales of grain exports.
