Malaysia May Up Chicken Egg Prices
Malaysia will review the need to raise the ceiling price of Grade A chicken egg, currently priced at 23 sen, as egg dealers claim to be selling at cost price, Deputy Minister of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Datuk S.Subramaniam said Monday.
He said his ministry would study the request in collaboration with the Agriculture Ministry.
Apart from eggs other items under the price control scheme are chicken, local beef, imported buffalo meat, banana prawns, white pomfret, Chinese cabbage, Indonesian round cabbage and potatoes.
The price control scheme started on Jan 14 and will be in force for two weeks until Jan 29.
