Egypt buys 120,000 tonnes US corn

For delivery this marketing year, private exporters reported Egypt purchased 120,000 tonnes US corn, said the Agriculture Department on Wednesday (Jan 18).

The 2011/12 marketing year for corn ends on August 31.

By law, exporters must report promptly the sale of 100,000 tonnes or more of a commodity to the same destination in one day. Sales of smaller amounts are reported weekly.
