Vietnam's northern, central provinces to exercise cattle protection measures

In order to help farmers protect cattle from the extreme chilly weather forecast during the Lunar New Year, Cao Duc Phat, Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, has asked the people's committees of the northern and central provinces to implement effective measures.

The Minister has also asked provincial authorities to instruct relevant departments to send officials to guide farmers in ways to prevent their cattle from dying or starving to death, in biting cold weather.

Officials will guide farmers to stockpile cattle feed and keep their cattle warm during the impending cold during the coming Tet Lunar New Year.

Both local authorities and residents are being asked to keep an eye on the weather bulletin. If temperatures fall below 12 degrees Celsius, all buffaloes and cows must be driven into shelters immediately, instead of being allowed to graze on the mountains.
