Vietnam aims US$5 billion from 2011 seafood exports

Vietnam targets to obtain US$5 billion from seafood exports this year as compared with US$4.94 billion last year, the Department of Fisheries under the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development said.

The export volume is likely at 5.3 million tonnes, the department was quoted by the Quan Doi Nhan Dan newspaper as saying.

Seafood product is Vietnam's leading item in terms of export turnover for agricultural products.
