China's 2011 grain output up 4.5% on-year
 

 

China produced 571.21 million tonnes of grain in 2011, up 4.5% on-year, marking the eighth consecutive year of growth, the National Bureau of Statistics announced Tuesday (Jan 17).

 

Meanwhile, the country produced 6.6 million tonnes of cotton, 32.79 million tonnes of oil and 125.2 million tonnes of sugar, up 10.7%, 1.5% and 4.3% on-year respectively.

 

In 2011 the country produced 78.03 million tonnes of meat, 28.11 million tonnes of eggs and 36.56 million tonnes of milk, up 0.3%, 1.8% and 2.2% on-year respectively.
