Belarus' 2010 farm output rise to US$10.21 billion

 

 

Belarusian farm production increased 2% on-year in January-December 2010 to BYR30.788 trillion (US$10.21 billion), a source in the National Statistics Committee said Monday (Jan 17).

 

Sales of fattened cattle and poultry rose 4.7% on-year in January-December to 1.4 million tonnes, milk output rose 0.7% to 6.6 million tonnes, and egg output went up 3.1% to 3.5 billion units.

 

Return on sales of Belarus' agribusiness reached 6.3% in January-November 2010, up from 5% in January-November 2009.

 

Net profit of agricultural companies amounted to BYR1.8 trillion (US$596.82 million) in January-November 2010, up 19.8% on-year.

 

In January-November 2010, farms' net loss reached BYR36.1 billion (US$11.97 billion), up 120% on-year. There were 33 unprofitable farms, compared with 17 loss-makers in January-November 2009.

 

Overdue payables of Belarus' agriculture were at BYR2.2 trillion (US$729.44 million) as of December 1, 2010, 17.9% of all payables.
