Russia likely to source meat from Turkey

Turkey is looking to sign a contract on strategic cooperation with Russia, which might include the meat trade.

Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said the two countries are on the verge of sealing the cooperation agreement.

He said Germany and France have signed such contracts with Russia, therefore it's time Turkey should clinch one of its own.

Erdogan said they have negotiated over the trade of meat products, including fish and poultry, with Russia interested to import 500,000 tonnes of meat.
