China approves 98,000 food processors for production
China has completed a nationwide product quality and food safety certification campaign, with a total of 98,000 food production and processing enterprises obtaining the food production licenses and adding QS labels to their products.
The campaign covered 16,000 raw material operations for food products, according to information released by General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine on January 14th.
The campaign also saw a total of 168 shipments of illegally imported meat, fruits and waste raw material destroyed or sent back to their exporting countries.
The inspection and quarantine on imports and exports of high-risk agricultural products was also strengthened, with more than 120,000 batches of imported food products now carrying additional inspection and quarantine labels.
