Brazil Soybean Crush Down To 1.81 Million Tons In Nov
Brazilian crushers processed 1.81 million tons of soybeans in November, down from the 1.99 million tons crushed the month before, according to industry figures published Monday.
Brazil is in currently in the thick of its inter-harvest period.
Crushing fell from 2.30 million tons processed in November 2003 when the crop was marginally larger, according to the Brazilian Vegetable Oil Industries Association, or Abiove.
The crush in the first ten months of the Brazilian soy season (February- January) totaled 22.47 million tons, some 77.5% of the projected 29 million tons for the year.
Soybean acquisitions fell to 1.26 million tons in November from 1.48 million tons in October, while soybean industry exports totaled 50,000 tons, down from 240,000 tons shipped the month before.
Brazil is the No. 2 soybean producer and exporter of soy complex. The figures were based on a survey of Abiove members and encompasses 88% to 90% of total crushing capacity.
