Indonesia to increase milk production by subsidising feed costs

In order to increase milk production, Indonesia may subsidise feed for dairy cattle to improve the quality of feed dairy cattle are now getting.

Indonesia is studying the possibility of subsidising feed for dairy cattle to improve the quality of feed dairy cattle are now getting. The government hopes to increase milk production through this scheme through a pilot project with 100 groups of dairy farmers in various locations in West Java.

Currently the production of milk per day in Indonesia reaches 1.6 million tonnes. If the feed subsidy is extended to farms across Indonesia the production of milk per day is expected to increase to 1.9 million tonnes.
