Cargill's Canadian grain facility to increase storage capacity
Cargill Ltd. will expand the storage capacity of its North Battleford grain handling facility in Saskatchewan, Canada, to 32,000 tonnes from the current 12,000 tonnes. Construction is expected to kick off over the next two months and completed in autumn this year.
Besides storage space, the seven-year-old facility also includes a 50-railcar load spot, a grain dryer and a crop inputs centre that offers a variety of agricultural products such as pesticides, fertilisers and seeds.
Cargill spokesperson Bert Benoit said that the expansion would allow the company to further improve the level and delivery of services to customers through higher storage capacity and immediate operational efficiencies.
