UK launches US$8 million dairy grant scheme
A new grant scheme which allows English dairy farmers to apply for GBP5 million (US$8 million) worth of grants was announced by the UK government, to develop new market opportunities through cooperation.
Under the grant scheme, groups of dairy farmers can apply for grants of between GBP25,000 (US$40,000) and GBP1 million (US$1.6 million) to establish new cooperation structures, such as producer groups and cooperatives.
They can also invest in technology to take advantage of new market opportunities.
The closing date for submitting outline applications is February 28.
