China's food output to reach US$1.95 trillion in 2011-15
 

 

China's food enterprises are expected to generate RMB12.3 trillion (US$1.95 trillion) in output value during the 12th Five-Year Plan period (2011-2015), sources said.

 

The country's grain processing industry is expected to reap RMB3.9 trillion (US$617 billion) in output value, up 12% annually, according to the 12th Five-Year Plan for the food industry jointly published by the National Development and Reform Commission and the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.

 

By 2015 the country's output of vegetable oil will hit 24.4 million tonnes, while that of other plant oil will reach 12.6 million tonnes.

 

In the 11th Five-Year Plan period the country's food industry achieved RMB6.1 trillion (US$966 billion) in output value.
