Taiwan offers technology to Philippine corn farmers
Taiwan will supply the latest machinery to Philippine corn farmers in Mindanao to help improve production.
The equipment transfer is a part of a Taiwan-Philippines programme to improve Mindanao's corn production.
Taiwan's Council of Agriculture, the Food and Fertiliser Technology Centre and the Philippines' Agriculture Department, have jointly raised PHP1 million (US$21,225) to purchase two mechanical corn shellers and four power tillers.
The new farming equipments were given to two groups that participated in the Taiwan-funded Modern Corn Cultivation Transfer of Technology Project in Barangay Cabugao, Bacuag, Surigao del Norte last month.
