EU lifts ban on poultry imports from Romania

The European Union has lifted the ban on poultry imports from Romania, established in 2005 due to the bird flu outbreak, the president of Romanian veterinary authority, Marian Avram, said Monday (Jan 15).

In September 2006, EU resumed poultry and poultry products imports from 16 Romanian counties, maintaining the ban on live chickens.
