Tyson settles suit over antibiotics-free label on chickens
Tyson Foods Inc. has agreed to settle a class action suit that alleged Tyson chickens were wrongly labelled as being raised free of antibiotics.
Tyson will offer consumers cash or coupons worth up to US$50, at a total cost of US$5 million. Despite the labels, the chickens had been raised from eggs injected with an antibiotic.
The company did not admit any wrongdoing in the settlement.
