Montenegro bans Serbian poultry due to Newcastle disease
Montenegro has banned imports of all poultry products from Serbia due to an outbreak of Newcastle disease in the region.
About 5,000 poultry died of the disease in Serbia in recent weeks.
The decision was made after the outbreak in Serbia was confirmed by the World organization for animal health (OIE), Montenegrin veterinary directorate chief Ivan Popović said.
Newcastle disease can be as dangerous as bird flu, according to some experts.
