Thailand's Sun Group to expand push cart franchise
Chicken farmer and frozen-chicken exporter Sun Group plans to increase the number of push carts in its franchise business to 250 this quarter, according to Thai newspaper The Nation.
The push carts currently sells a mixture of chicken and rice.
The company aims to expand the current 130 franchisees to 3,000 by 2010, 70 percent of them in Bangkok. The Sun Group opened its first franchise business last year and hopes to have 1,000 by year-end.
Sun Group general manager Prasert Chanpaisang said the company intends to take the expansion south as demand for khao man gai is stronger there.
Prasert said the company hopes to drive sales to THB 1.5 billion (US$41.6 million) by 2010.
