Indonesia expects rising fishery exports in 2013

Indonesia's Fishery and Marine Ministry has estimated fishery exports to increase to US$5 billion in 2013 despite a slow world economy.

Indonesian Fishery and Marine Minister, Syarif Cicip Sutardjo, said that shipment of the fishery products has shown a good trend in recent months.

Meanwhile, the ministry has expanded export to markets in the Middle East and Africa, he said.

Indonesia enjoyed trade surplus in fishery sector last year as its import value reached US$520 million, he said.
