India's 2011 milk powder exports to grow 88%

India's export of milk powder for 2011 is seen to grow by 87.5% on increased milk production in the country, according to a report by USDA.

"Sufficient carry-over stocks from 2010 may increase non-fat dry milk (milk powder) exports from India in 2011," the USDA report said. It said that the overall exports of milk powder in 2010 stood at around 8,000 tonnes.

In the current year, the forecast is that the country is expected to export around 15,000 tonnes of milk powder, which is 7,000 tonnes more than the last year's export.
