SAIFE VETMED introduces Diprosin A Plus for ascites

Press Release

SAIFE VETMED has announced the launch of Diprosin A Plus, a feed supplement that can relieve the damaging effects of ascites for the poultry industry.

Diprosin A Plus is a combination of amino acid derivative, antioxidant, anti-stress and diuretic which works on precipitating factors which causes sscites, a common cause of mortality in broiler chickens. This product helps reduce mortality rate and low rejection caused by poor quality of carcass during slaughtering.

The amino acid derivative in Diprosin A Plus performs transport of free fatty acids which are used for energy transportation, thus reducing the gap between energy demand and supply to the heart in order to pump more blood to a fast expanding body mass in rapidly growing birds. Therefore, the product's active ingredient helps to ensure proper heart functions and proper oxygenation of vital organs like liver while reducing the intensity of disorders.

Antioxidant and anti-stress increase the tissue integrity preventing further damage of the capillaries. The stress which is a contributing factor in the overall pathogenesis of this disease is relieved by the anti-stress factor in the product

Furthermore, the osmotic diuretic helps to pump out excessive fluid from the body cavity and support functions of other components. It is safe compared to loop diuretics - a potent content which can disturb the electrolyte balance.

Ascites is a condition whereby excess amount of ascetic fluids accumulate in the body cavity. It is a common cause of mortality in broiler chickens, especially during the cooler months of the year.

The cost of ascites-related mortality to the global broiler chicken industry is estimated to be in excess of US$500 billion per year.
