SKOV A/S has introduced a new five-year product insurance for poultry house system DOL 339 Climate Computers.
The extended product insurance, which is launched under the name SKOVCare, is accepted in connection with purchase of the product. The concept will be introduced at VIV Asia 2009 in Bangkok.
The customer will pay a fixed amount per computer for the insurance and he will have no expenses for DOL 339 spare parts in the next five years.
In connection with SKOVCare, the company is launching a first aid box containing the DOL 339 modules, which may fail. If this box is located in a central position on the farm, the poultry producer may quickly repair the computer.
The damaged part must be returned to SKOV, and a new spare part for update of the first aid box will be forwarded without charge, according to Per Bech Rasmussen, Global Support Manager, SKOV A/S.
In mechanically ventilated houses, there is a major risk that the animals will suffer harm if ventilation fails and is not quickly re-established. The oxygen content of the air is reduced, the air humidity increases and the animals cannot get rid of the excess heat.
