Import permits for Australian cattle fall by more than 25%

Indonesia has approved import permits for 98,000 Australian cattle for Q1 2015, down from 133,507 in Q1 2014.

Last year Australia exported more than 600,000 cattle to Indonesia, nearly a yearly record.

The permit release, delayed by two weeks, came in the midst of renewed commitment from the Indonesian government to become self-sufficient in meat production.
