Israel purchases US-origin corn products, soymeal

European traders said on Thursday (Jan 12) that a consortium of Israeli private buyers has bought US-origin corn products, optional origin soymeal and European sunflower meal in a tender which closed on Wednesday (Jan 11).

Amounts were said to be close to the tender volumes, which sought about 21,000 tonnes of corn products, 14,000 tonnes of soymeal and 10,000 tonnes of sunflower meal.

The soymeal was purchased at US$55 a tonne c&f over the Chicago March soymeal contract.

The corn products comprised corn gluten feed pellets bought at US$240 a tonne c&f and dried distillers' grain with solubles (DDGS), a by-product of bio fuel production, bought at US$314 a tonne c&f.

The sunflower meal was purchased at US$196 a tonne c&f.

The tender had sought shipment for the corn products and soymeal in February and March, shipment for the sunmeal was sought between February 20-April 10.
