Year 2009 produced many challenges for Alltech in the climate of global crisis, but the company had chosen to focus on the available opportunities in order to ride out of the crisis effectively.

The word ''crisis'' in Chinese is composed of the characters ''danger'' and ''opportunity'', and Alltech chose to embrace the opportunities, said company president Pearse Lyons.

Over the past year, Alltech have completed significant expansion of their production facilities, purchased a new facility in China and Belgium, and opened new offices in North America and Spain.

The company also entered into a number of new partnerships, including an agreement to produce specialty grade yeast extract for the consumer market. The Alltech-Muhammad Ali Centre Global Education and Charitable Fund was also created. This fund was established to support worthy educational and charity projects at home in Kentucky and globally.

In 2010, Alltech celebrates 30 years in business with an exciting year ahead.

Alltech is headquartered in Lexington, Kentucky with Bioscience Centres in the US, Ireland and Thailand, and offices and distributors in 120 countries. The company is one of the top leaders in the animal health and nutrition industry.
