Vietnam to spend US$7 million on poultry vaccines
Vietnam's Minister of Agricultural and Rural Development Cao Duc Phat said the country will buy US$7 million worth of bird flu vaccines, reports newspaper Vietnam Economic Times on Friday (January 9).
The purchase was prompted by the successive cases of bird flu outbreaks and one human infection case.
The minister sent has called all localities to strictly monitor the disease and to vaccinate all poultry.
Phat also asked all localities to set up strict controls over the trade, transport, slaughtering and consumption of poultry to prevent the disease from spreading.
