Taiwan's Soybean Imports May Dip
Soybean imports are expected to dip slightly in Taiwan during the coming 2005-06 marketing year, according to a recent report by the US agricultural attache for the country.
"Forecasts for 2004-05 and 2005-06 imports are 2.3 and 2.2 million tons, respectively. This reflects an anticipated fall of 11% in local chicken production for 2005 and a 2% contraction in both chicken and swine sectors in 2006," the agricultural attache predicted.
