China's Henan Province Exported 1.30 Million MT Wheat In 2003
Henan province, China's top wheat- producing region, exported 1.30 million metric tons of wheat in the 2003 calendar year, local traders said, citing data from the local grain bureau in Henan.
In calendar year 2003, Henan province exported 970,000 tons of feed wheat and 330,000 tons of milling grade wheat, traders said.
Wheat exports in the first 11 months of 2003 were pegged at 1,868,952 tons, 187% higher than the same period of 2002, according to the official data of China's General Administration of Customs released in December.
The official trade data for wheat export is scheduled to be released later this month.
Commercial wheat stocks in Henan are pegged at 18.00 million tons according to the data from local grain bureau.
Henan produces about one fourth of the total wheat in China.
