Aquachile files IPO
Chilean salmon producer, AquaChile has filed with the local SVS securities regulator to issue shares and pursue an initial public offering.
AquaChile filed two blocks of shares with the SVS, the first equivalent to US$125 million and the other for US$110 million. If successful, the proceeds will be used to finance its growth plans.
AquaChile's sales reached US$484 million in 2008, but decreased to US$347 million the following year when a deadly virus outbreak affected its salmon production.
