Crimea decreased grain sales by 21%
Agricultural enterprises (except of small ones) of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea (Ukraine) sold 518,600 tonnes of grains during the January to November period of 2010, a decrease of 20.9% compared to the same period in 2009.
This was declared by the main department of statistics of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea,
according to www.agrimarket.info.
According to the announcement, wheat sale volumes in the region lowered by 29.3% compared to the previous year index – to the level of 282.1 thousand tonnes, barley – down 14.9% to 183.7 thousand tonnes, corn – up 2.4 times to 9.7 thousand tonnes.
In January-November period of 2010, the average purchasing price of grains, offered by Crimean commodities producers to the enterprises, dealing with grain storing and processing, totalled 1141.9 UAH/tonne (US$143.41/tonne), including wheat – 1144.2 UAH/tonne (US$143.70/tonne). In January to November 2009, it was 936.6 UAH/tonne (US$ 117.63/tonne) and 858.9 UAH/tonne (US$107.87/tonne), respectively.
In the period of January to November of 2010, the average selling price of grains, offered by the Crimean agricultural enterprises, formed the level of 1056.2 UAH/tonne (US$132.65/tonne), up 22.8% compared with the January to November period of the previous year. In particular, the average selling price of wheat totalled 1024.8 UAH/tonne (US$128.70/tonne), up 29.6% compared to the same period of 2009.
As a reminder, in January-October of 2010, agricultural enterprise of the Crimea sold 481,300 tonnes of grains, down 21.3% compared to the same period of the previous year.
