Turnover for LNB Romania Feed up by 50 percent in 2006
LNB Romanian Feed, a subsidiary of Netherlands-based LNB International Feed, closed 2006 with a turnover EUR 7.5 million (US$9.76 million), up 50 percent on-year, the company's CEO Lambert Reudink said.
LNB International Feed, producer of nutrition premix for animal feed, was recently acquired by Cargill Inc. The process is expected to be completed by end-February 2007.
LNB has production units in Suriname, Poland and Romania, with sales offices across Russia and the Netherlands.
The company is Cargill's second largest acquisition of an animal nutrition company since its purchase of Agribrands in 2001.
The LNB acquisition is a move to strengthen Cargill's lead in the animal nutrition sector in markets with significant growth potential such as Romania, Russia, and Poland, Cargill said.
US Cargill also owns in Romania agricultural companies Cargill Cereale and Cargil Siloz.
Cargill employs 142,000 in 62 countries worldwide and supplies agricultural and food products.
