International bird flu conference to be held in Japan
Together with the World Health Organization (WHO), Japan will host an international conference on the prevention of bird flu.
Slated for Jan 12-13, the conference will attract health officials and experts from 22 countries, including the European countries and the US and the World Bank.
Ways to distribute the bird flu drug Tamiflu will be discussed in the conference. The conference will also include discussions on ways of speeding up the establishment of an early warning system for pandemics.
