The Taiwan Flour Millers' Association has bought 84,650 tonnes of milling wheat all from the US in a tender, European traders said Monday (Jan 9).
The tender comprised one purchase of 47,550 tonnes for February 16-March 1 shipment and 37,100 tonnes for March 4-18 shipment. The purchase comprised a range of grades and seller of all the wheat was Colombia Grain.
For shipment between February 16-March 1, the purchases were made in dollars a tonne c&f for 23,800 tonnes of spring wheat at US$407, 11,250 tonnes of hard red winter at US$370 and 12,500 tonnes of white wheat at US$273.
As for shipment between March 4-18, the purchases were made for 24,950 tonnes of spring wheat at US$411 and 12,150 tonnes of hard red winter at US$374.
The Taiwan Flour Millers' Association is a traditional buyer of US wheat. In its previous reported tender on December 9, the association purchased a total 83,750 tonnes of US-origin wheat.
