Paraguay farmers fear high crop losses
Farmers in Paraguay fear that crops may be entirely wiped out if the severe drought and hot weather persist.
Crops such as sesame, cotton, soy, sunflower, corn, beans, peanuts, cassava, and bananas have begun to feel the lack of rain, reports America Economia.
A great deal of rain will be needed to limit the damage already done by the drought.
Due to the prolonged drought, over 3,000 acres of cotton and 70,000 hectares of sesame is likely to be lost. In addition, thousands of acres of soy and sunflower crops are at risk as well.
